Advanced courses

The SMUL Academy works continuously to develop new courses aimed at our Swedish students living abroad. These courses may focus on various specific areas, such as writing, TISUS, etc.

Focus on Writing

The Focus on Writing course is recommended for young people who understand, speak, write, and read in Swedish and who wish to continue developing their writing skills in particular, for example, for future studies.

 

  • Focus on Writing can be taken between Basic Course J and K, after Basic Course K, or as a standalone course.

TISUS preparatory course

The SMUL Academy is able to offer a preparatory course for young people aged 16–20 who plan to take the TISUS* test.

The course aims to increase the chances of passing the TISUS test and focuses specifically on the skills required to succeed in this examination.

*TISUS = Test in Swedish for University and Higher Education Studies. The TISUS test consists of three components.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, we are not offering this course and instead recommend that students of this age and proficiency level take Basic Course K.
